Eagle Mountain Winery Set to Open in Fall 2020 in North Greenville County
World-class boutique winery to include spectacular views, amenities and monthly events

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC (AUGUST 2, 2018) — Eagle Mountain Winery, LLC is thrilled to announce plans to build a winery on a 54-acre parcel of land in north Greenville County, near Landrum. The property is located on Highway 11, between Highway 25 and Highway 101, and features beautiful streams, small waterfalls, southwest-facing hillsides and spectacular 40-mile mountaintop views. The world-class boutique winery will be a spectacular addition to the tourism industry in the Upstate.

Eagle Mountain Winery is currently in the developmental stages. The land has been cleared for the vineyards to be planted, and the winery is set to open in Spring 2020. Amenities will include bocce ball courts, walking trails, fire pits and an outdoor sculpture garden. Monthly food, wine, music and art events will be open to the public.

For the first few years, Eagle Mountain will produce wine from grapes grown in the Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Monterrey and other well-known areas in California. The production of estate wines will begin once the South Carolina grapevines have a chance to mature, likely in year three or four.

“The wines from Eagle Mountain Winery will have exceptional power,” says George Bursick, Director of Winemaking. “We are sourcing the best grapes from the finest vineyards in California, and finding creative ways to grow cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc varietal grapes on our estate in South Carolina. We have designed a state-of-the-art winery and we are dedicated to providing high-quality wines on a consistent basis.”

The Eagle Mountain management team consists of Bursick and Russ Gardiner, CEO & Managing Partner. Together, they have a combined 60 years of experience in the wine industry. Bursick, one of the most accomplished winemakers in America, has spent more than 35 years making outstanding wines at some of California’s largest
wineries, including a 21-year stint at Ferrari-Carano.

“Never before has such an accomplished winemaker brought his knowledge and skill set to winemaking in South Carolina. It’s unprecedented,” says Gardiner. “And our exclusive Wine Club memberships will offer more than just the usual wine discounts. Benefits include free Italian Cuisine every Sunday, a chance to be involved in the wine crush, and Wine Camps with our winemaker where you’ll blend your own wine in the barrel room. Founding members will also receive personalized pavers and wine barrels.”

In addition to Gardiner & Bursick, more than 30 local investors are helping fund Eagle Mountain Winery, which will serve food and wine from its tasting room and be open to the public seven days a week. The venue will also be available for weddings and private events during off hours.
